PPC Stickies

PPC Stickies If you own a PPC handheld device, you can exchange stickies with it. Check the "PPC support" check box on the General options tab, and two extra menu items appear - one on each sticky right-click menu "Send to PPC" and one on the task-tray menu "Import from PPC".

Usage

In order to view and edit the stickies on the PPC, you will need to run Stickies for PPC.

When you run it, you'll see a sticky on your PPC screen. You can now open your favourite IM (input method; keyboard, transcriber etc), and enter text. If you would like a second PPC sticky, tap the title bar (the black horizontal lines), and choose New. The menu which appears also shows a list of your current stickies. To switch to any of these, click on it. Your current sticky is automatically saved when you do this, or exit the program.

To remove a sticky, tap the trash-can icon in the top-right.

Once desktop Stickies PPC support is enabled, the additional menu item on the task-tray right-click menu, "Import from PPC" will transfer stickies from the PPC to your desktop machine.

However, if you tap the down-pointing arrow in the top-left hand corner of the Palm sticky, it will change to pointing upwards, and this sticky will remain on your Palm when a HotSync® is performed.

Desktop stickies are sent to the PPC with the menu item "Send to PPC" which appears when you enable the PPC support as outlined above.

If you also check the "Auto import on dock" check box on the General options tab, all stickies on your PPC not set to stay on it will be transferred will be whenever you ActiveSync.

The stickies on the PPC are stored in the "stickies" directory which is created under \My Documents

Stickies for PPC is provided under the shareware licence. This means that you can download and run it for free. If you find the program useful and want to continue to use it, you are asked to pay $5 / 5€. Please be aware that v6 of desktop Stickies enforces the shareware licence for PPC Stickies by replacing vowels with asterisks for unregistered copies. The v5.x desktop edition of Stickies does not have this restriction, but if you upgrade once v6 is available, without first having registered PPC Stickies, you risk your vowels being replaced by asterisks on all stickies transferred between desktop and PPC.
