Program code file to provide the global keyboard hook for Stickies from v4.5 to v6.7a. Remove or rename to stop using those features. Not required for Stickies to run.

stickies.ini

Stickies data file in which summary information for desktop, sleeping, recurring, attached and deleted notes was stored. Only used up to v9 when it was replaced by stickies.db.

options.ini

Stickies data file in which program options were kept. Only used to to v9 when it was replaced by stickies.db.

friends.ini

Stickies data file in which the list of network friends were saved. Only written up to v9 when it was replaced by stickies.db.

stickies.bak

Backup file, containing the same information as stickies.ini, but is written one hour after the application starts, and then at one hour intervals. Only used prior to v10.

stickies.24h

Backup file, containing the same information as stickies.ini, but is written once every 24 hours of program operation. Only used prior to v10.

stickies.1wk

Backup file, containing the same information as stickies.ini, but is written once every one week of program operation. Only used prior to v10.

stickies.bye

Backup file, containing the same information as stickies.ini, but is written every time the app closes, as the last thing which is done. Only used prior to v10.

store.mdb

Data file containing stored notes. Only used prior to v10 when it was replaced by stickies.db.

store.ldb

When store.mdb is in use (when Stickies is running) this is a lock file written by the Jet subsystem, which Stickies used prior to v10.

stickies.db

Data file used for all Stickies information - notes, stacks, options, friends, stored notes, from v10 onwards.

activity.log

If Debug is enabled within Stickies, program operations are written, one per line, to this file.

palm.ini

Stickies which have been "Sent to Palm" are written to this file until the next HotSync, at which point the contents are sent to the Palm, and the file is removed. Palm support was removed after v8 of Stickies.

stickies.exe

Main/all application code.

instlog.lsl

Helper file written by Little Setup Builder as it installs an applications. Use of LSB was ceased in v6.7 of Stickies.

sconduit20.dll

Palm conduit code, permitting the transfer of notes between a Palm device and the workstation. Palm support was removed after v8 of Stickies.

<images> directory

The contents of all image notes were stored in this directory - all desktop, sleeping, closed and stored. It was replaced by stickies.db in v10 of Stickies.

<rtf> directory

The contents of all text notes were kept here - except those which are stored, which were in the store.mdb file. It was replaced by stickies.db in v10 of Stickies.

The folder being used to store these files is visible at the bottom of the About box - right-click the yellow task-tray icon next to the clock, and choose About Stickies... Click the "..." button to open that location.

For versions of Stickies older than v6, use the "Directory Usage" page in the help file to find where your data files are being stored.
